MANIFESTO 01

Professional Leadership & Vision

A New Model of Governance for Hunza

I am introducing a governance model built on 15 years of technical expertise in economics, developmental and humanitarian service to replace traditional political rhetoric with “Results-Oriented Governance”.

My vision is to transform the MLA’s office into a professional hub where every decision is data-backed, intellectually honest, and transparently executed. I pledge to build a self-reliant Hunza by optimizing our local resources and reducing dependency on central budgets, ensuring every sub-valley has an equal voice. This approach leverages international development standards to elevate our local economy, ensuring that Hunza is recognized globally not just for its natural beauty, but for its professional management and integrity-driven leadership that matches the true potential of its people.

Professional Governance & Institutional Reform

The core objective is to transform governance into a professional system where decisions are based on evidence, not assumptions.

Key priorities include:

  • Transforming the MLA office into a professional development hub
  • Ensuring all policies are data-driven and research-based
  • Introducing transparent systems for project monitoring
  • Strengthening institutional capacity instead of informal decision-making
  • Promoting merit, competence, and accountability in governance
  • Encouraging expert consultation in policymaking

Leadership must function as a system of responsibility, not influence, ensuring that every action produces measurable public benefit.

Equal Development & Self-Reliance:

Development must be inclusive, balanced, and fair across all regions of Hunza. No valley or community should remain excluded from progress.

Focus areas include:

  • Upper Hunza
  • Gojal
  • Central Hunza
  • Shinaki
  • Underserved and remote communities

At the same time, Hunza must move toward self-reliance by strengthening its internal economic structure and reducing dependency on external funding.

Strategic actions:

  • Promotion of local entrepreneurship and small businesses
  • Modernization of agriculture and tourism sectors
  • Expansion of digital economy opportunities
  • Skill development programs for youth
  • Community-based economic initiatives

The goal is to turn local potential into sustainable economic strength, ensuring long-term stability and independence.

3. Vision for a Transformative Future

The long-term vision is to build a Hunza that stands as a model of integrity, efficiency, and modern governance. A region where development is not only visible but also sustainable, inclusive, and professionally managed.

This vision is based on a shift in political culture:

  • From promises to performance
  • From dependency to self-reliance
  • From informal politics to institutional governance
  • From short-term actions to long-term planning
  • From exclusion to public participation

Hunza should be recognized not only for its natural landscapes but also for its governance model, its educated and capable people, and its ability to manage its own future with dignity and professionalism.

This is a commitment to build a stronger, more self-reliant, and globally respected Hunza for present and future generations.
